He studied in
Barcelona, Germany and the United States
with teachers like Xavier
Joaquim, Pedrito Díaz, Siegfried
Fink, Ted Wolf, Joe Hunt, Allan, Morris
Lang, Dave Samuels, Gary Burton, Peter
Erskine, etc.
Has collaborated with Tete Montoliu,
J. A. Amargós, Álvaro Is, Zé Eduardo,
J. A. Cubero, M. Rossy, Tito Puente, R.
Roda, John Shurman, Carles Benavent, J.
Bonell, S. Arisa, Feliu Gasull, and with
groups like the Big Band of the Modern
Music and Jazz Workshop and the Musicians’ Workshop,
the Catalan Instrumental Group directed
by Carles Santos, the AMJC orchestra,
the Teatre Lliure orchestra, La Capella
Reial,
Sperion XX, and the Orchestres des Nations.
Founding member of the group Catalònia,
the Barcelona Percussion Group, duets with
Lluís Vidal, Conrat Setó and
Antoni-Olaf Sabater, the Xaloc trio,
and the experimental BCN Percussion group.
Awarded the National Interpretation Prize
for Young Spanish Musicians; the City
of Barcelona Prize; and the Special Prize
and Prize for the Best Group, awarded
by
the Jazz Musicians’ Association
of Catalonia.
In the teaching field he has taught at
the Barcelona Musical Study Centre (CEMB),
Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona), and
is founder of the Barcelona Modern Music
and Jazz Workshop.
He currently dedicates his time to composition
and collaborates in a host of projects.

|
He began his career in Saragossa at the
age of 9, playing the mandola with the
Rondalla del Maestro Peirona.
Usually plays two musical genres: blues,
with groups like Big Chief, Albert Collins,
Johnny Copeland, Elvin Bishop, Eddie
Bo, Neil Geoffrey, Steve de Swardt,
Julian
Vaughan, etc., and Mediterranean popular
music with groups like Maria del Mar
Bonet, Xaloc, Meridiana, and he participated
in
the musical accompaniments for the television
programs “Mediterrània” and “Èxit” broadcast
on TV3-Televisió de Catalunya.
He has recorded with Jaume Aragall and
the Liceu Opera House Orchestra, the Teatre
Lliure orchestra and the Czestochova Symphonic
Orchestra in Poland. Has also participated
in the recording of an LP paying homage
to the American singer Jackson Browne.
Recently performed solo in Copenhagen for
the Princes Award.

Studied at the
Musician’s Workshop;
the Barcelona Modern Music and Jazz Workshop;
the Ignacio Cervantes School; and at
the National Folk Music Center in Havana,
Cuba.
Throughout his career he has worked with
Tete Montoliu, Mayte Martín and
groups like Max Sunyer’s Nòmades,
Manel Camp and Matthew Simon’s
Acoustic Jazz Quintet, Carles Benavent-Jordi
Bonell-Nan
Mercader, Les Zoulosains of Toulouse
(France), Fernando Tordo of Lisbon (Portugal)
and
Jarabe de Palo, with whom he has recorded
a CD.
Founding member of the Caramba, Octopussy-Latin
Jazz and the Orquestra Encantada groups.
Awarded the Prize for Best Percussionist
by the Jazz Musicians’ Association
of Catalonia.
Extremely active in recording music and
promotional advertising.
In the teaching field, published a Percussion
primer for the flamenco percussion box,
published by Carish.

Began
dancing at the age of 10, following
the José de la Vega school.
Received her first flamenco prize
in the Sabadell National Flamenco
Competition.
Studied with Eva “la Yerbabuena” and
Antonio Canales.
Began her professional career
with the best flamenco singers:
Carmen
Linares, Chano Lobato, Calixto
Sánchez, Mayte Martín,
José de la Tomasa, etc.
Has also danced in the Balet de
Jesús Cortés in
Barcelona.
Took part in the performance
of Manuel de Falla’s El
amor brujo, which the Liceu Conservatory
Symphony Orchestra performed
at
UNESCO, Paris to commemorate
its 160th anniversary.

She began dancing
professionally at the age of 14 in cabaret
halls and has worked
with Mayte Martín’s group
since the age of 15.
Has danced in all of Barcelona’s
flamenco clubs and has been on a world
tour with Miguel Poveda and Mayte Martín.
Studied with “La Tani”, “Torombo”,
Eva “la Yerbabuena”, Antonio “el
Pipa”, Matilde Corral and Belén
Maya.

She began dancing
professionally with the El Cordobés
flamenco show.
Received her first classes from the flamenco
dancer “La Tani”, and later
developed her talent with Eva “la
Yerbabuena”, Belén Maya, Rafaela
Carrasco, Merche Esmeralda, Pastora Galván, “Torombo”, “El
Pipa”, “Toleo”, etc.
Has worked in various flamenco clubs in
Barcelona, such as Los Tarantos, Tablao
de Carmen and el Sacromonte.
Various international tours with the
Cambalache group, directed by the guitarist “El
Chicuelo”.
