WORKSHOP OF PERCUSSION IN FAMILY
Let’s play with rhythm

Rhythm and percussion are an ancestral voice in all of us. Our years of research and experience in this field have thoroughly convinced us its musical, social and therapeutic qualities.
We offer a leisure activity with a highly educational and experimental component for the whole family. This experience will allow children and adults to use music and percussion to a greater degree than just as an isolated event.

Percussion allows everyone without any underpinning musical knowledge to enjoy music, to have a creative and playful experience. Enjoying percussion and rhythm is in itself an enriching and exciting experience for our children, but when shared with the whole family it becomes fantastic!
We are inviting you to discover a world full of surprises and exciting experiences.

CONTENTS:

Educational objectives:

1- Familiarisation with the different percussion styles and techniques.
2- Basic techniques for some percussion instruments.
3- Knowledge of some traditional rhythms.
4- Using percussion instruments for accompaniment.
5- Rhythmical improvisation.
6- Experimenting with voice.
7- Tribal rhythms and dances.
8- Using own body as an instrument.
9- Awareness of relationship between body, rhythm and percussion.
10- Creation of a short piece all together.

SUPPORTING MATERIALS:

- Different percussion instruments.
All kinds of percussion instruments will be available to ensure the smooth running of the workshop.

- Purpose-built home-made instruments.
Instruments made from recycled materials to inspire ideas to children and parents.

- Photocopies of photographs of the instruments used.
Graphic materials of all the instruments used and other percussion instruments.

- Listing with recommendations.

List of suggested listening related to percussion.

- Exercise CD with educational proposals.

All these materials will be provided at the workshop and are included in the price.

Percussion provides a different way to express sensations and feelings. It is also a chance to be creative and playful and to learn by sharing.
