WORKSHOP
ON RHTHMICAL PERCEPTIONS (other ways of understanding and experiencing rhythm):
Each culture has a different way of feeling rhythm. In some
cases it is more intellectual, in others more physical and in
others more spiritual. They all do, however have common points
and they are also all complementary.
The orthodoxy of the so-called classic musical education, has
emphasized the intellectual aspect of rhythm. This has left aside
the other mentioned aspects, which are extremely important to
fully develop our interpretative and creative work in music.
This workshop is aimed at music teachers, conservatories, symphonic
orchestras and musicians in general, who want to experiment with
rhythm as something alive, visceral and organic. It will include
experimenting with own body and dance and a big variety of percussion
instruments will be used. In a few words, it will be a journey
to discovering the pleasure of communicating through the language
of rhythm.
